Andros Island is the
largest island inhabited
of the 700+ Bahamian
Islands. It is
approximately 140 miles
long and 40 miles wide.
Andros Island is located
155 miles east of Miami,
Florida and 20 miles
west of Nassau.
Andros Island has
beautiful sandy beaches,
crystal clear waters,
lush green foliage,
friendly land crabs and
wild orchids of every
color.
Andros has four airports
and three official ports
of entry. It is home to
the Atlantic Undersea
Test and Evaluation
Center (AUTEC), a
US-British undersea
research facility.
Andros Island has one of
the largest populations
of bonefish and the
third largest barrier
reef in the western
hemisphere.
